£19.99

Part of the 'Precious' floribunda rose collection bred by Noack in Bavaria to have a neat, rounded shape, glossy leaves and excellent health, 'Precious Love' is and outstanding rose.

The beautifully coloured and abundant, lightly scented trusses of vivid orange-red blooms stand out brightly from the dark foliage all summer, and as the colour won't fade as the flowers age, it'll keep looking sensational all season long.

Easy to grow and maintain, and tolerant of poor soils, this is a very forgiving rose that will grow almost anywhere. Excellent grown in patio pots, flower beds or as a striking flowering hedge.

Supplied as a freshly potted, professional quality plant in a 3L pot, growing to a height of 70cm.

Top Tips

  • The roses can be kept in their pots throughout the winter provided they are kept well fed and watered, however ideally, they should planted out as soon as possible. Because plants are dormant throughout the winter, they do not produce any new roots until spring, so don't be alarmed if the compost falls away from the roots when you take them out of their pots.
  • They will already have been cut back so no further pruning will be required, apart from removing any tips that have died back.

Care Information

  • Grow in fertile, moist, well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade.
  • Roses can be planted at any time of the year, as long as the soil is not frozen, waterlogged or drought-dry.
  • Plant your rose where it can get plenty of sun for at least half of the day, and where it will be sheltered from the wind.
  • Roses tolerate wide range of soils but thrive in deep, humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil, so add plenty of well-rotted manure into the hole if necessary.
  • Water well every other day - daily if the weather is hot and dry.
  • Established roses can be watered around once a week through spring and summer - more if the weather is hot.
  • For best results, feed roses in in late-March/April and again late July.
  • Provide good air circulation and remove fallen leaves and faded flowers to keep plants in tip-top condition.
  • In late winter or early spring, prune hard (back to 10 -18 inches) and reduce sideshoots to 2 or 3 buds.
  • To renovate out of condition plants, or to add renewed vigour, prune one in three stems close to the base.
  • To prune, you would traditionally cut just above a leaf joint with a sloping cut away from the bud, however, this isn't necessary, and don’t worry about pruning too much - roses are very resilient and will grow back.
